      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this article, I compared and analyzed the words related to ‘Hanjae(旱災)’ extracted from Sega, Bongi and Ohaengji of 󰡔Goryeosa󰡕·󰡔Songsa󰡕·󰡔Yosa󰡕· 󰡔Geumsa󰡕·󰡔Wonsa󰡕. Next, the impact of the drought was examined with a focus on the social aspects of the Goryeo Dynasty, and Chinese data was supplemented and explained. The ‘drought’ seems to have had a great impact on all dynasties in Northeast Asia as well as the Goryeo Dynasty. It is necessary to examine the time and intensity of the drought more actively, and its close comparative analysis can be said to be an essential part of understanding the social situation of the time.
In Chapter 2, I compared and analyzed drought search words in 󰡔Goryeosa󰡕·󰡔Songsa󰡕·󰡔Geumsa󰡕·󰡔Wonsa󰡕, and looked into their characteristic elements. There are two types of drought:‘big drought’ and ‘general drought’. Search words that can be read as a big drought are ‘Daehan(大旱)’, ‘Guhan(久旱)’, ‘Bulwoo(不雨)’, and general droughts include search words such as ‘han[drought]’, etc.
In Chapter 3, I looked into the occurrence trends of drought and its effects. It can be seen that droughts occurred very frequently during the Goryeo Dynasty, and in particular, droughts at the end of the Goryeo Dynasty were much more frequent than in previous periods. In addition, the drought caused various damage such as bugs disaster, diseases, and damage to crops, etc. Moreover, the biggest problem was that the long drought led to poor harvests, leading to ‘Great Hunger[大飢饉]’. There was even a very big tragedy called ‘Peoples Eating each Other[人相食]’.
Ultimately, drought data from the Goryeo Dynasty are limited. We will need to continue to consider whether it is appropriate to supplement this with Chinese data. However, if we can closely distinguish between the commonalities and differences in contemporary historical records, I think we can make up for the phenomenon of temporal hollowing out in a complementary way.
