TV 드라마 속 여성서사의 새로운 가능성 연구: <낮과 밤이 다른 그녀> (JTBC 2024)를 중심으로 = A New Possibility Study of Female Narratives in TV Dramas Based on <Miss Night and Day> (JTBC 2024)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인터넷과 OTT가 보급된 지금까지도 가장 보편적이고 일상적인 미디어가 무엇인가 묻는다면 단연 텔레비전일 것이다. 텔레비전은 한 시대와 공동체에게 익숙한 프레임을 제공하면서 평범이라는 가치관과 문화를 재생하기 때문이다. 그런 의미에서 2010년에 중반 이후 가열차게 진행되어 온 새로운 여성담론의 현재적 위치를 알아보기 위해선 텔레비전 드라마를 분석하는 시도가 중요하다. 대중성이라는 모호하지만 중요한 개념 뿐만 아니라, 젠더에 대한 시대적 의식을 가늠해 볼 수 있는 가장 효율적이면서도 신뢰할 만한 매체가 ‘드라마’이기 때문이다. 그런 관점에서 본 연구는 JTBC에서 방영된 <남과 밤이 다른 그녀>라는 드라마를 분석하는 과정을 통해 ‘여성주의’ 서사의 새로운 시도와 가능성을 진단해 보았다. 이미 많은 드라마를 대상으로 여성서사와 여성담론에 대한 분석이 다양하게 진행되어 왔다. 그러나 본 연구는 기존의 전형적인 ‘여성서사’에서 조금은 벗어나 있는 <낮과 밤이 다른 그녀>를 통해 다음세대의 여성‘서사’에 대한 가능성을 타진해 보았다. 선택받거나 특별한 재능으로 무장한 여성이 아닌, 진짜 여성의 이야기를 통해 여성서사가 오랫동안 고군분투해온 ‘여성’이라는 수식어와 이별하고 진짜 나와 우리의 서사로 거듭날 수 있지 않을까 하는 기대를 가지고 시작되었다. 백수이자 중년인 아무것도 아닌 ‘그녀들’의 판타지가 프레임을 통해 대중과 조응했을 때 어쩌면 우리는 그동안의 인위적인 판타지에서 해방될지도 모른다. 드라마라는 대중서사가 지금 세대와 공조하면서 다음 세대를 형성해 가는 역할을 한다고 했을 때, 부족하고 미력한 자신을 받아들이는 서사는 그 자체로 여성과 여성서사를 구원할 것이다.

If you ask what is the most common and everyday media even now with the spread of the Internet and OTT, it would be television. This is because television reproduces the values and culture of mediocrity while providing a familiar frame to an era and community. In that sense, it is important to try to analyze television dramas to find out the current position of the new women's discourse, which has been hotly conducted since mid-2010. This is because 'drama' is the most efficient and reliable medium that can gauge the consciousness of the times about gender as well as the ambiguous but important concept of popularity. From that point of view, this study diagnosed a new attempt and possibility of the 'feminism' narrative through the process of analyzing the drama 'Miss Night and Day' aired on JTBC. There have already been various analyzes on women's narratives and women's narratives targeting many dramas. However, this study explored the possibility of the next generation of women's narratives through 'Miss Night and Day', which is a little away from the existing typical 'women's narrative'. It started with the expectation that through the stories of real women, who are not women who are selected or armed with special talents, the female narrative may be able to break up with the modifier "woman" that has been struggling for a long time and be reborn as a real narrative of me and us. When the fantasy of "their" is coordinated with the public through the frame, which is unemployed and middle-aged, maybe we will be freed from the artificial fantasy of the past. When it is said that the popular narrative of drama plays a role in forming the next generation while cooperating with the current generation, the narrative that accepts the insufficient and beautiful self will save women and women in itself.
