After improving the stability of operation and resolution of the SEM, we had copious amounts of experimentation on identifying the characteristics and development of Einzel type lens with the reference to the demagnification lens system of SEM.
Through experimentation we have focused on finding a better final shape of the lens by changing factors that affect the focus, and we removed effects from the various aberrations generated in the process by using aperture and calibration device.
As a result, we found a better form of lens that has a much higher efficiency of focusing and stability of operation than conventional lens.
Therefore, we could have the final shape of lens composed of two layers of focusing lens and three apertures.
Because of this, the effective magnification could be up to 8000 times, and the resolution has improved up to 300 nm compared to the previous micro-region.
Starting with minimal configuration we have undergone three steps of changes based on the theories and experimentations, and could determine the future research directions through confirming additional subsequent possibilities.
