가야금 연주법에 관한 고찰

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오늘날 오랫동안 전승되고 있는 훌륭한 가야금은 가장 사랑받는 악기라고 할 수 있다. 가야금의 역사는 가야국의 가실왕이 당나라의 ‘쟁(箏)’을 보고 만들었으며 악사였던 우륵에 의해 전해졌다고 한다. 가야금은 우리 역사와 함께 신라, 고려, 조선을 거쳐 현재까지 이어지면서 정악 가야금인 ‘법금’과 민속 악기인 ‘산조 가야금’과 현재 작곡가들에 의하여 발표되는 창작곡들에 맞추어 개량 가야금들이 나타나게 되었다.
이러한 악기들의 출현에 따라서 가야금 발현법이 다소 차이가 있는데, 본고에서는 편의상 정악 가야금 주법, 산조 가야금 주법과 개량 가야금의 주법들을 나누어서 살펴보고 다음과 같은 점을 발견할 수 있다.
첫째, 정악 가야금의 발현법에 나타나는 오른손 주법 및 왼손 주법의 차이점은 오른손의 당기고 미는 주법을 발견하고, 왼손에서는 자연스럽고 편안한 농현을 발견하게 된다.
둘째, 산조 가야금의 발현법에 나타나는 오른손 주법 및 왼손 주법의 차이점은 오른손의 뜯고 튕기는 주법과 왼손의 다양한 농현 등을 발견한다.
셋째, 개량 가야금의 발현법에 나타나는 주법은 작곡가에 의해 가야금의 다양한 연주법들을 발견하게 된다.
이렇게 본고의 비교 연구를 통하여 보았듯이 같은 가야금이라도 각 악곡들의 차이로 정악 가야금, 산조 가야금, 개량 가야금으로 나타나며 발전하였다.
이렇게 필요에 따라서 가야금의 연주 방법들은 전통적인 연주 방법을 바탕으로 전승되고 새로운 주법들이 나타나서 가야금의 발전에 기여하게 되었다.
지금까지 설명한 가야금의 연주법들은 대부분 보편화된 것으로 가야금 주법의 전체라고는 할 수 없다. 그러므로 연주법의 여러 발현법들은 새로운 음악의 창조를 위한 길의 한 방면이라고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

These days, a Gayageum can be mentioned as the most beloved instrument that has been handed down for a long time. The history of a Gayageum is said that King Gasil in Gaya Country made it by citing a gong 'Jang', under Tang Age and transmitted by Ureuk who was the musician. As a Gayageum has been transmitted till now through Silla, Goryeo and Joseon, a classical Gayageum 'Bupguem', a folkinstrument 'Sanjo-Gayageum' and improved Gayageum matching with the new song made by composer of these days happened to be appearing nowadays. A gayageum being transmitted till now through Silla, Goryeo and Joseon, a classical Gayaguem 'Bupguem', a folk instrument 'Sanjo-Gayageum' and an improved Gayageum matching with the new song made by composer of these days happened to be appearing nowadays. As these instruments appeared, there is difference in making sounds. This manuscript includes renditions of those 3 kinds of Gayageum and followings are the differences of those;
First of all, the difference of rendition of right hand and left hand for a classical Gayageum is that the right hand is observed to be pushing and the left hand is observed to be more natural and peaceful.
Secondly, for a Sanjo-Gayageum, right hand is thrummed and bounced while left hand shows various techniques.
Thirdly, the rendition found in an improved Gayageum depends on the kinds of composer who plays it.
As seen from the comparison research in this manuscript, a Gayageum has been developed as being differentiated into a classical Gayageum, a Sanjo-Gayageum and an improved Gayageum by the difference of each composition.
These rendition of a Gayageum has been handed down based on the traditional rendition on demands and contributed to the development of a Gayageum with the new methods of playing.
Most of these executions of Gayageum mentioned earlier are generalized and don't explain the whole techniques of Gayageum play. Therefore various renditions can be the one way for creating new music.
