Discourses on Green Democratic Theory = its Reconstruction and Critics

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문의 내용은 동서냉전의 붕괴 이후 1990년대 본격적으로 논의되기 시작한 녹색민주주의 담론들을 재구성하고 그에 대한 비평을 담은 것이다. 본 논문은 크게 4가지 주제를 담고 있다. (1) 각 정치집단들의 녹색이익을 둘러싼 정치게임과 불평등한 환경정치에 대한 녹색정의론의 대두, (2) 시민사회와 녹색정치의 연관성, (3) 녹색정치의 효율성을 둘러싼 집중주의와 분산주의 논쟁, (4) 전통적 자유민주주의를 넘어선 녹색민주주의에 대한 새로운 이론적 모색 등이 그것이다. 결론에서는 개발도상국의 사례가 배제된 선진국 중심의 녹색민주주의 담론의 한계를 지적한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this article, a critical examination of the theory of green democracy is presented in the following way which consists of: the introduction of discourses on the nexus between democracy and the environment for the North, and a consideration of four counter-arguments or criticisms of this nexus. The conclusion of this article comments that the green democratic theory is lack of its application in the South, which presents a process of participatory citizenship in the newly industrializing countries, but still authoritarian or democratically less mature regime in its own territory comparing them with, to some extent, democratically mature regime in the North.
