This article investigates translation strategies for scientific and technical terms in Arabic-Korean translation by analyzing learner-generated translation texts. Drawing on functionalist translation theories (Kim & Kim, 2010; Nord, 2001; Sarcevic, 1997), four major strategies were identified: literal translation, transliteration, hybrid translation, and functional paraphrasing. A total of 85 technical terms were extracted from six Arabic-Korean translation texts and categorized. The analysis reveals that literal and hybrid strategies were most frequently used, reflecting a tendency toward formal equivalence and balanced meaning transfer. This study highlights the importance of terminology strategy education and suggests that learner translation can be an effective tool for training translators in the handling of domain-specific terminology.
