Main research in RCN (Research Center for Nanocatalysts) in KRICT has focused on the development of nanocatalysts and nanoporous materials including metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and zeolites, and energy-related catalysis as well as green and sustainable chemistry including catalysis for biorefinery. This presentation will first cover the introduction to current research on the center including the defunctionalization of biomass-derived chemicals by heterogeneous nanocomposite catalysts. Then, the presentation will focus on the utilization of nanocomposite materials based on porous metal carboxylates as multifunctional adsorbents and catalysts that can be used for energy-efficient sorption applications and catalysis.
