도시재생 관점에서 산업유산 시설을 활용한 컨버전 디자인 사례연구 -폐 채석장을 중심으로- = A Case Study on the Conversion of Industrial Heritage Facilities Using Industrial Heritage Facilities - Based on the Quarry -

(Background and Purpose) Nowadays, there is a growing awareness of the need to recycle industrial heritage to regenerate local cities and towns. The current situation of the nation's lung quarries is that it has been carelessly left to collect rocks and stone, and as a result, the city police have been damaged due to conflicts with local residents and has to be solved seriously. Rather than neglect its function, it is necessary to recognize the new ways of facilitating a new urban regeneration project by acknowledging its value as a representative region of the current era of industrialization through the present. However, I think studies are very insufficient because they tend to recycle these industrial heritages. The study analyzed the characteristics of the success stories of the overseas plague, which functioned as the focal point of the success of the city, and used it as a basic data base for reviving the domestic industrial heritage. (Method) Based on the theoretical considerations, research and analysis of the industrial heritage was examined in the context of the study of the industrial heritage and the value of the industrial heritage in terms of industrial heritage. Based on the analysis of the new features of the cultural heritage facility pertaining to the industrial, the design of the site was concluded. This was accomplished by analyzing the design characteristics obtained by utilizing the Industrial Heritage Facility from the standpoint of utilizing the Industrial Heritage Facility. (Results) The analysis result was based on the status of industrial heritage facilities, the conversion characteristics in terms of urban regeneration, the conversional characteristics in terms of regeneration and utilization of cultural and artistic space, and the analysis of the value of the convergency-type facilities in the park was analyzed, respectively. The six sites have led to a qualitative change in urban regeneration that excludes indiscriminate development, followed by historic landscapes, which is an important resource for local regeneration due to the use of cultural and artistic space. Third, it is possible to maximize the utilization of the converted technology to establish a significant brand of identity in the community. (Conclusions) With the use of various methods to induce the use of underground stone bricks to induce the use of stone bricks, various municipal and provincial governments in the country are finding ways to utilize the relics of the unemployed, and the process of utilizing the industrial heritage of the country in order to prevent the destruction of the industrial heritage.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

(연구배경 및 목적) 요즘 지역이나 도시재생을 위해 산업유산을 재활용하여야 한다는 인식이 크게 늘고 있다. 현재 우리나라의 폐 채석장의 상황을 보면 토석채취의 기능을 끝낸 뒤 무분별하게 방치된 상태로 도시경관을 해치고 있고 이 과정에서 지역민들과의 마찰로 인하여 각 지자체 에서도 해결해야 할 심각한 문제로 대두되고 있다. 단지 그 기능을 다했다고 하여 방치되기 보다는 현 시대의 산업화 과정을 통한 대표적인 지역유산으로서의 그 가치를 인정하고 차후 적극 활용할 수 있도록 새로운 기능을 부여하여, 도시재생 프로젝트의 새로운 방법을 찾아볼 필요가 있다. 그러나 이러한 산업유산들을 재활용하기 위한 연구들이 매우 부족한 실정이라 생각한다. 이에 본 연구는 지역유산으로서 기능이 있는 해외 폐 채석장중 컨버전디자인을 적용하여 도시재생의 활발한 성과를 이룬 성공사례들의 특성을 분석하여 국내 산업유산시설을 역사, 문화, 예술 공간으로 재 계획 시 기초자료로 활용하는데 그 목적을 두었다. (연구방법) 컨버전디자인의 이론적 고찰을 토대로 문헌연구와 사례연구로 나누어 도시재생 관점에서 산업유산 시설의 유형과 가치를 고찰 하고 산업유산시설 중 폐 채석장을 활용한 컨버전디자인 특성을 알아보았다. 산업유산시설에 문화·예술공간의 새로운 기능을 부여해 성공을 이룬 해외 6곳을 분석한 뒤 도시재생 관점에서 본 산업유산시설을 활용한 컨버전디자인 사례분석을 통해 얻어진 디자인 특성을 중심으로 결론을 도출하였다. (결과) 산업유산시설의 현황파악과 도시재생측면의 컨버전특성, 재생·활용적 측면의 컨버전특성, 문화·예술 공간 활용측면의 가치와 컨버전디자인 활용을 각각 분석한 결과 분석 대상 6곳은 각각 정원, 공원, 박물관 등으로 활용되고 있었고 컨버전디자인의 개념에 맞게 형태적으로 큰 변경 없이 원형의 형태 가치를 최대한 보존하고 있었으며 기능적 필수 프로그램 도입으로 새로운 가치를 적용하고 있었다. 이들 6곳의 공통점은 첫째, 무차별개발을 배제한 도시재생의 질적 변화를 가져왔고 둘째, 역사적 경관은 유지한 채 문화와 예술적 공간으로의 활용으로 인해 지역 재생에 중요한 자원으로서 가치를 상승시켰다. 셋째, 컨버전디자인의 활용치를 극대화시켜 지역사회의 중요한 브랜드로 자리 잡았다는 점을 들 수 있다. (결론) 산업화 시절 석재를 조달하기 위해 매우 분주했으나 자원고갈로 폐광된 지금의 폐 채석장의 활용방안을 두고 우리나라의 여러 지자체들이 여러 의미를 부여하여 지역의 랜드마크로 부상시키기 위하여 여러 가지 활용방법들을 모색하고 있는 가운데 본 연구의 과정과 결과들이 각 지역에 방치되어 있는 산업유산 시설들을 컨버전 디자인을 적극 활용하여 자연의 훼손 없이 아름답게 재생시키고 각 지역사회와 더불어 우리나라를 대표하는 창조적인 공간 브랜드로 활성화 시키는데 있어 전략적으로 활용할 수 있도록 유용한 방향을 제시하기를 바라는데 본 연구의 의미를 두고자 한다.
