This study examined the impact of health education in middle and high schools on adolescents' health-promoting behaviors, lifestyle, and psychological health. The study used raw data from the 2023 Youth Health Behavior Survey by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA). Data from a sample of 2,581,964 individuals was analyzed while incorporating elements of a complex sample design. The findings were as follows: Adolescents who received dietary education showed significantly higher frequencies of breakfast consumption, fruit intake, and water intake. A larger proportion of adolescents who attended hygiene education washed their hands after returning home from school and outings. A lower proportion of adolescents who attended the sex education programs had sexual intercourse and a larger proportion practiced contraception compared to those who did not attend these programs. A higher total quantum of health education correlated with increased physical activity and lower rates of smoking and alcohol consumption. Adolescents who had received higher levels of health education reported better subjective health status, body image, and happiness.
