1930년대 시의 언어적 특성 : 번역어 ‘美’를 통해 본 시적 언어의 발견 = A linguistic feature on the 1930s poetry － on the discovery of poetic language through ‘美’(beauty) as translated word

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article looks around the rebirth process of ‘美’ as everyday language which translated to a poetic language, from the period of enlightenment to the 1930s. For this, this article attempt to review practically translated words and everyday language in this times. Absolutely ‘美’(beauty) is fallen within a list of Joseon language before the period of enlightenment. But by the way, the original meaning of ‘美’(beauty) was deteriorated by translation of civilization in the 1910s∼1920s. Importantly ‘美’(beauty) was securing a new qualities of meaning in this process. By the 1930’s, ‘美’(beauty) is registered on a list of Joseon language not as an individual experience but also as poetic language. Translation of civilization did not attached completely something Joseon to the Occidental. However translation of civilization renewed something Joseon in some ways. This is true in all parts of the poems in the 1930s. On the whole modern knowledge system and cultural idea were composed by translation of civilization. This work can be an initiative to invent a living investigation for the process of Joseon language in the 1930s.
