서사적 규방가사의 구조 연구 = The Study on the Structure of Narrative Gyu－bang Gasa

국문 초록 (Abstract)

조선후기에는 서사문학의 융성과 함께 가사의 서사적 경향이 극대화되고 나아가 소설과 거의 차이가 없는 가사 작품들이 창작, 전승되기에 이른다. 규방가사는 조선 후기 가사의 전개에 있어 담당층의 확대와 서사적 경향의 관점에서 언급되어지는 가사의 한 갈래로서, 구조유형은 크게 세 가지로 나누어진다.
구조에 따른 중심내용은 당대의 유교 이념 혹은 여성의식과 관련이 있다. ‘고난－극복－성공형’은 정절, 치산, 혼인이 중심 내용이며 이것은 女範ㆍ정절 이데올로기와 관련이 있다. 주인공들은 女範과 烈行을 위해 적극적인 행동을 하며 그 결과 고난 극복에 성공하여 행복한 결말을 맞이한다. ‘고난－극복－실패형’은 경제문제, 치산이 중심내용이며 남성 중심적ㆍ가부장적 이데올로기와 관련이 있다. 이 구조의 작품들은 사건의 인과성이 부족하며 인물지향적이고 고난을 겪는 원인이 인물의 부도덕함에 있다. 따라서 고난 극복에 실패하며 죽음과 파멸로 끝을 맺는다. ‘고난－극복－체념형’은 혼인문제와 여성의식과 관련이 있다. 여기에 속하는 작품의 인물들은 잘못된 혼인제도에 대한 비판과 함께 인간 중심의 결연을 강조하거나 당대의 이데올로기에 따라 순종하는 두 가지 차원으로 나타난다. 그러나 이들은 고난을 극복하지 못하고 도피하거나 체념하며 고난을 운명으로 받아들인다.
서사적 규방가사에는 가부장적 이데올로기로 인해 고통 받는 여성의 현실이 그려지고 있으며, 미미하나마 그러한 현실에 대한 도전의식이 나타난다. 그러나 서사적 규방가사의 대부분은 가부장적 이데올로기를 옹호하고 있다. 규방가사에 서사적 요소를 부가함으로써 재미와 감동을 주어 교술적 효과를 더 할 수 있다는 특성이 있다. 서사적 규방가사는 조선후기의 사회적 변화와 가사문학의 이야기성 확대, 여성독자층의 증가로 인해 읽을거리에 대한 갈증으로, 여성의 현실을 표현하고자 하는 의도로, 본래 가지고 있던 교술적 주제를 효과적으로 달성하고자 출현하였다.
따라서 서사적 규방가사는 교술성과 서사성을 동시에 구현하고 있는 문학양식으로, 조선후기 가사의 다양한 변화에 따라 나타난 문학적으로 발전된 이야기양식의 가사유형이라는데 문학사적 의의가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In late Chosun dynasty, narrative characteristic of Gasa was maximized and Gase, which are very similar to fiction were created and handed down, as narrative literature flurished. Gyu-bang Gasa is defined as one kind of Gasa those are discussed in the point of authors and narrative characteristic in late Chosun dynasty, and its structure is divided into three big categories.
This structure os Gyu-bang Gasa is closely related with Confucian ideas or women's awareness. For example, the ideas, such as trouble, to overcome, success are highly valued. In addition, the structure contains a concept, being faithful to one's husband.
The main characters take active actions to follow women’s codes and faithfulness, and they face happy ending as a result. Trouble-Overcome-Failure is mainly about life and housekeeping and they are related to androcentric society. Narrative Gyu-bang Gasas in this structure lack causality and character-centered and the problem is in the lack of morality of the characters. Therefore, the main character fails to overcome the difficulty and the story ends with death or downfall. Trouble-Overcome-Give Up talks about marriage and women’s consciousness. The characters of the narrative Gyu-bang Gasas in this structure either emphasize connections among people or follow the ideology of the period, criticizing wrong marriage system of that period. However, the characters do not get over their difficulty and just give up.
Narrative Gyu-bang Gasas appeared because of changes of the society, increasing number of Gasa and women readers to show reality of women's life and to teach their educational themes. Women who suffer from patriarchal system are described in Gyu-bang Gasas, and they show slight challenges to the system. However, most of the narrative Gyu-bang Gasas support the patriarchal system.
Narrative Gyu-bang Gasas with narrative characteristics give various feelings and lessons. And those were the reasons for creation and tradition of Gyu-bang Gasas. Therefore, narrative Gyu-bang Gasa is a literature with both lessons and narrativity, and it has great meaning that it is one of the talkative style of Gasa that was created in various changes of late Chosun dynasty's Gasa.
