This study aims to examine the mediating effect of family involvement on the influence of trust in childcare centers held by parents of childcare centers on parent-teacher relationships. To this end, an online survey was conducted with parents of infants and toddlers attending 30 childcare centers in Busan metropolitan city and Yangsan city, and a total of 243 data were statistically analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program and The PROCESS macro for SPSS version 4.0. The main research results are as follows. First, there was a significant positive correlation between parents’ trust in childcare centers, parent-teacher relationships, and family involvement. Second, the mediating effect of family involvement was significant in the relationship between parents’ trust in childcare centers and parent-teacher relationships. This showed that not only did parent-teacher relationships improve when parents’ trust in childcare centers were high, but also that increased trust in childcare centers could contribute to the improvement of parent-teacher relationships by increasing the level of family involvement. This study revealed that family involvement can be a link that connects the relationship between high levels of trust in childcare centers and positive parent-teacher relationships. In addition, it suggested the need for coordinated efforts by the government, organizations, and individuals to improve overall trust in childcare centers and increase the involvement of parents and families as the main actors in the care and education of infants and toddlers, and the implementation methods for doing so.
