공간적 문해력의 정의적, 인지적, 비판적 요소들 간의 상관관계: 공간적 사고방식, 공간개념과 기능, 비판적 공간사고력을 중심으로 = Exploring the Relationships among the Dispositional, Cognitive, and Critical Components of Spatial Literacy: Focusing on Spatial Habits of Mind, Spatial Concepts and Skills, and Critical Spatial Thinking

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 공간적 사고방식, 공간개념과 기능, 비판적 공간사고력을 공간적 문해력의 구성요소로 정의하고 이들 세변수 간의 상관관계를 탐색하는 것이다. 공간적 문해력의 하위요소를 구체적으로 확인하고 상호관계를 실증적으로 분석하는 것은 공간적 사고의 본질을 이해하는 데 도움을 주고, 나아가 학습전략 개발 등을 위한 통찰력을 제공한다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 피어슨 상관계수, ‘점수공간’ 3차원 시각화, 독립성 검정과 요인 분석을 활용해 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 공간적 문해력의 세 요소는 서로 상관성을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해, 공간적 사고력의 하위요인들은 상호작용하며 시너지 효과를 낳는 것으로 이해할 수 있었다. 이 연구는 공간적 문해력의 구성요소를 구체적으로 정의하고, 상관관계를 실증적으로 분석한 시론적 시도로 관련 연구의 지평을 확장하는 데 기여할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to define the dispositional, cognitive, and critical components of spatial literacy and furthermore to investigate the relationships among the three variables. Identifying sub-dimensions of spatial literacy and examining the associations among the elements are meaningful in that the analyses help understand the nature of spatial thinking and provide insight into further research, such as the development of teaching strategies. Analyses were conducted through the calculation of Pearson’s correlation coefficient, the 3D visual inspection of the “score space”, and test for independence and factor analysis. As a result, this study found that the three components of spatial literacy are interrelated and produce synergistic effects. This article represents an empirical attempt to explore the relationships among sub-dimensions of spatial literacy and is expected to expand the horizon of related research.
