원격 교육의 코스 설계 요소 연구 = A Study on the Basic Elements in the Course Design of Distance Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

원격 교육은 가르치는 곳과 분리된 곳에서 일어나는 학습으로, 특수한 조직과 행정의 세심한 조율뿐 아니라 코스 설계에 있어서 특수한 설계기법, 특수한 교수기법, 특수한 통신방법을 필요로 하는 계획된 학습이다.
이와같이 원격 교육은 교수자와 학습자가 시·공간적으로 분리되어있는 상황에서 정보전달과 이들 간의 상호작용이 인공적인 통신 매체의 도입으로 이루어진다. 그러므로 통신 매체의 성공적인 사용은 일반 교실에서 사용되는 것 보다 더 세심한 계획과 제작 그리고 특수한 설계기술 즉, 체제적 교수 설계가 요구된다 하겠다. 양질의 원격 교육 코스를 개발하기 위해서는 반드시 이 체제적 접근의 적용이 필요하다.
이 연구는 원격 교육의 이론적 기반을 이루고 있는 교류적 거리 이론과 양질의 원격 교육 코스 개발을 위해 필수불가결한 체제적 교수 체제 설계 과정을 고찰하고, Moore 와 Kearsley가 제시한 원격 교육 코스 설계의 주요 요소들 즉, 개발팀의 특질,학습 안내서 설계, 학습자의 참여 전략, 그리고 평가에 대하여 연구 분석하였다

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Distance education has become a major form of learning and teaching around the world. Distance education is planned learning that normally occurs in a different place from teaching and as a result requires special techniques of course design, special instructional techniques, special methods of communication by electronic and other technology, as well as special organizational and administrative arrangements.
This study was intended to review the theoretical basis for distance education and analyze the basic elements in the course design of distance education. Moore's theory of transactional distance suggests that there are two critical underlying variables-structures and dialog-and these are in relationship to learner autonomy. This is a pedagogical theory that explains the nature of programs and courses, and the behaviors of teachers and learners.
Instructional Systems Design(ISD) is a widely accepted set of procedures and processes for the development of instructional programs. Distance education institution, program, consortium and individual course can be analyzed or descrived as a system.
There are two different development approaches(i.e., author-editor versus course team); each approach has its strength and weaknesses. The major design characteristics of study guides included organization of the content into units, a relatively informal writing style, and good document layout. Getting student participation is a challenge for all forms of distance teaming. Evaluation considerations include data collection techniques, measurement variables, prototyping, and use of multiple methods.
