전기도금을 이용한 금속장신구의 표면색상에 관한 연구 = A Study of Utilizing the Electroplating Jewelry Ostensible Color

국문 초록 (Abstract)

아날로그시대에서 디지털시대로 변화해 가는 현대문명은 정보화와 글로벌화 속에 진행되고 있다. 현재의 소비자들은 개인의 차별화와 독창성을 강조하는 경향을 보여주고 있으며, 이러한 현상은 획일화되는 미의식의 대중화 과정에서 자유로운 개인의 존재를 인정받고 주장하려는 행동의 일환으로 비춰진다.
우리나라는 급속한 경제발전을 통하여 선진국가로 진입하고 있으며, 국가의 발전 뿐 만 아니라 국민 개개인의 의식수준도 향상되고 있다. 또한 산업의 구조에서도 큰 변화를 보이는데, 특히 공예산업의 경우에는 공급과 수요의 주체적 관점에서 그 특징을 볼 수 있다.
공예산업은 일품제작에서 출발하여 생산을 위한 디자인을 거쳐 소비자를 위한 제작의 시기로 바뀌었고, 현재에도 소비자의 요구에 맞추어 끊임없이 변화하고 있다. 그러나 빠르게 진행된 현대 산업구조의 변화는 다양한 소비자의 욕구를 만족시키지 못하였고, 소비자의 욕구와 생산자의 욕구를 상충시켜 소비자와 공급자 모두에게 새로운 문제점을 나타나게 하였다.
위와 같은 문제는 생산자의 적극적 해결의지와 대안제시를 통한 소비자의 만족도 상승과 새로운 수요창출로 해결 될 수 있으며, 본 논문에서는 금속장신구의 표면색상변화의 다양성으로 부여로 문제해결의 실마리를 제공하고자 한다.
금속장신구의 표면색상 변화는 금속의 색을 표현하는 여러 가지 방법 중 대중적으로 많이 쓰이는 전기도금을 이용하여 연구하였다. 또한 금속표면처리의 공학적 측면과 금속공예의 기법적 특성 연구로 금속표면색상의 다양성에 관한 연구도 함께 진행하였다.
특히 금속표면가공기법들이 어떻게 색의 발현에 상관하는지와 도금의 조건 등을 달리하여 장신구제작에 용이한 방법으로 실험하였다. 실험결과를 토대로 금속장신구제작에 활용한 색표현은 부분침지도금, 회화기법, 적층도금 등을 사용하여 다양한 색상을 금속장신구에 적용하였다.
금속가공기법은 이론이나 기기의 개발에 맞추어 다양하게 발전하였으며, 새로운 과학기술의 발전으로 기법이 창출되고 있다. 과학기술과 공학기술은 양적, 질적으로 새로운 기법의 등장을 가속화하여 금속공예발전에 공헌을 하고 있으며 현대사회에서 공예가는 새로운 기법을 창출하기 위해서 끊임없이 타 분야와 연계를 시도하여야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

From analog time change at digital age and goes today from civilizational inside, consumers' consumption trends emphasizing informationization and globalization present emphasis on individual differentiation and uniqueness. These trends are expressed as part of behaviors attempting to have individual free existence recognized during popularization of uniformed aesthetic consciousness. Korea is becoming an advanced country through rapid economic growth, and consciousness level of individuals is improving advanced. This change also causes changes in the industrial structure. In particular, the industrial arts industry presents the influence in the subjective viewpoint of supply and demand. Beginning from production of a superior article, it has developed into production for consumers via design for production. However, this change caused another problem for both consumers and suppliers because the desire of consumers and the desire producers conflict with each other in the modern industrial structure. In order to solve this problem, producers should enhance customer satisfaction and create new demand through having active will to solve and suggesting alternatives.
There will be various attempts to satisfy consumer's desire, but the current study aims to suggest a solution by giving diversity through color changes of metal jewelry. The study tried to understand metal surface treatment technologically and examined characteristics of methods of metal crafts for color changes of metal jewelry. In particular, the study examined how metal surface treatment methods influence expression of colors and experimented to find out easy methods to produce jewelry by applying plating order, time and moving speed differently. Then, based on the experiment results, the study applied up-to-date device, partial digestion plating and a pictorial plating method for express colors for metal jewelry.
Metal treatment methods have been developed in various ways as tools and devices have been developed, and new methods are being introduced according to development of scientific technique. Scientific technique and engineering technology contribute to the development of metal crafts by accelerating introduction of new methods both qualitatively and qualitatively. Craftsmen should make consistent attempts to connect with other areas in order to create new methods in the rapidly changing modern society.
