The purpose of this study is to find out the relationships between somatotype and physical fitness.
Data were collected through measuring tree somatic factors,-standing, height, body weight and chest circumference-of 400 male senior high school students in Seoul.
Rohrer's index and Brugsh index were composed of body weight ratio and chest circumference ratio.
Components of physical fitness were speed, Muscular endurance and power.
In this study, the relatiomships between Rohreir's index and physical fitness, and between Brugsh index and physical fitness is analyzed by the statistical mathod such as correlation, means and standard deviations.
The results are as follows
1) There are little significant correlations between Rohreir's index and physical fitness.
In case of physical fitness factors, speed has no correlation with the Rohrer's index.
There is negativly weak rellation between Rohrer's index and muscular endurance (r=-0.39).
The relation between Rohrer's index and power is weak (r=0.48).
2) There is no relation between Brugsh index and physical fitness.
In case of physical fitness factors,
Speed is very weakly correlated with normal chest circumference (r=0.23).
The relation between Brugsh index and chest circumference style increases in proportion to sizes.
The rrelation between Brugsh index and power is a little strong (r=0.5) and the relation is increased in proportion to sizes.
