초고령사회 대비를 위한 연령통합(Age-integrated)의 교회 구현 방안에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Implementation of Age-integrated Church in Preparation for Super-aged Society

With the entry into a super-aged society on the verge, it is a very important task of the times to respond to changes in the demographic structure, resolve the problem of generational rifts, and find measures to coexist and integrate generations. The government declared its vision of an “age-integrated society” through “Basic Plan for Low Fertility and Aging Society” in 2020 as a social innovation that responds to demographic change and generational conflict. Various fields of society are also seeking ways to achieve age integration. In preparation for a super-aged society, church needs to find ways to be age integrated. This study suggests a plan to realize an age-integrated church in preparation for a super-aged society.
First, based on the concepts of flexible age criteria and age heterogeneity, church should eliminate the structural barriers so that any generation can enjoy the opportunity of equal choice in ministry, service, and education opportunities. In addition, it is necessary to prepare worship, education, service, etc. in which generations of various ages can exchange and interact so that empathy and understanding between generations. Second, as the Bible perceives the elderly as people of wisdom and calling, the church should establish a right perception of the elderly as people who can contribute productively to the church, ministry and service opportunities must be actively provided. Finally, church should educate people that an age-integrated church is not just for the elderly, all members of the body of Christ regardless of their age, enjoy mutual-benefit and blessing.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

초고령사회 진입을 목전에 둔 현시점에서 인구구조 변동에 대응하고, 세대 균열 해소와 세대가 공존하고 통합할 수 있는 대책을 찾는 것은 중요한 시대 과제이다. 정부는 2020년 『저출산·고령사회 기본계획』에서 인구구조 변화와 세대갈등 문제에 대응하는 사회 혁신으로 ‘연령통합적 사회’ 비전을 처음 제시하면서 세대갈등 완화와 전 세대공존을 위한 정책으로의 전환을 선언하였다. 사회 각 분야에서도 연령통합을 위한 방법을 모색하고 있다. 교회도 초고령화 사회에 대비하여 노인에 대한 재인식과 함께 어떻게 연령통합 교회의 형태를 구현해야 할 것인가에 대한 방법을 모색하는 노력이 시급히 요청된다.
본 연구는 초고령사회를 대비하여 연령통합의 교회를 구현하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 첫째, ‘연령기준유연성’과 ‘연령다양성’ 개념에 기초하여 사역, 봉사, 교육의 기회에서 그 어느 세대도 제한, 배제, 분리 없이 동등하고 자유롭게 선택의 기회를 누릴 수 있도록 구조적 장벽을 없애거나 낮추어야 한다. 아울러 다양한 연령의 세대가 교류하고 상호작용할 수 있는 예배와 교제, 교육, 봉사 등을 마련함으로써 세대 간 공감과 이해가 높아지도록 해야 한다. 둘째, 성서가 가르치는 바와 같이 공동체에 생산적으로 기여할 수 있는 주체로서 노인에 대한 관점을 바로 세우고, 노인들이 소명감과 영적 충만을 느낄 수 있도록 사역과 봉사의 기회와 역할을 적극적으로 제공해야 한다. 셋째, 연령통합 교회를 세우는 것이 노인세대만을 위하는 것이 아니라 그리스도의 몸을 이루는 전 연령의 지체 모두에게 주어지는 유익과 축복이라는 점을 일깨워 그리스도의 몸을 위해 온전히 하나된 공동체로 세워나가야 할 것이다.
