커뮤니케이션 자본주의 시대의 ICT, 노동, 그리고 마음의 상처: <다음 소희>는 말할 수 있는가? = ICT, Labor, and Moral Injury in Communicative Capitalism: Can Next Sohee Speak?

국문 초록 (Abstract)

영화 <다음 소희>는 우리가 전화를 통해, 주로 목소리로만 접하는 콜센터 상담사의 노동, 착취, 소외의범위 및 깊이를 시각화하였다. 본 논문은 <다음 소희>가 기존에 미디어에서 소외되었던 여성/청소년/ 비정규 노동자를 노동 주체로 가시화하였음을 주목하며, 이 영화가 제기한 논의를 확장하고자 했다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 정보 통신 기술(ICT)의 발전과 커뮤니케이션에 초점을 맞추어 <다음 소희>에 나타난콜센터 노동을 분석한다. 구체적으로 본 논문은 먼저 미디어 재현에서 여성 노동자의 주변화와 <다음소희>가 그 주변화된 주체를 가시화한 의미에 대해 논한다. 그다음으로, 본 논문은 콜센터 산업의 형성과 확장이 ICT의 발달 및 신자유주의와 어떻게 연결되어 있는지를 살펴보고, 이 산업에서 ICT가 경제적가치의 창출과 노동의 관리 및 통제에 어떻게 활용되는지를 논의한다. 마지막으로 본 논문은 <다음 소희> 속 특수한 영역(“해지 방어 업무”)과 콜센터 상담사의 커뮤니케이션을 분석하여, 이것이 기존 연구에서 잘 논의되지 않았던 콜센터 노동이 가지는 특수한 측면을 드러내고 있다고 주장하며 이를 “더티워크”, “도덕적 상처” 등의 개념을 통해 구체화한다.

The film Next Sohee reveals how call center workers experience labor, exploitation, and alienation. It brings visibility to women, youth, and precarious workers who are often marginalized in media representations. This article aims to expand on the discussions raised by Next Sohee, particularly through the lens of information and communication technologies (ICT) development and communication. First, the article examines how women workers have been historically marginalized in media and explores how Next Sohee contributes to making women workers visible. Second, it investigates how the formation and expansion of the call center industry are tied to ICT development and neoliberal policies, highlighting how technology is used both to generate economic value and to manage and control labor. Finally, the article analyzes the communicative labor of call center workers using concepts such as “dirty work” and “moral injury”.
