This study is to discuss reaction kinetics of removal influenced the removal efficiency of organic materials Investigated using the poly propyrene media which is appropriate to attach microorganism in order to apply the fluidized bed.
The results obtained in the experiment were as follows ;
1. The oxygen transfer coefficients(K₁a) of reactor was exponentially increased in the range of air flowrate 500-2500ℓ/hr and decreased at the air flow rate 2000ℓ/hr. This value may be explained for the limit of feeding air flow rate per reactor volume.
2. In the batch reactor, the kinetics of reaction rate constant (k') were 0.120, 0.143, 0.153, varing initial COD 520, 1080, 1530㎎/ℓ. It was estimated that the kinetics of reation rate constant was proportion to the concentration of initial COD.
3. In the continuous reactor, the reaction kinetics of substrate removal rate(Km) obtained by Mckiney's equation was 1.38/hr and substrate was fast removed comparing to those of any other conventional biological process.
4. It can be concluded that fluidized bed reactor is efficiently practical process for the treatment of organic wastewater.
