데이타베이스 시스템에서 3차 저장 장치의 효율적 활용을 위한 고려사항 = Considerations To Efficiently Incorporate Tertiary Storage in Database Systems

국문 초록 (Abstract)

멀티미디어 데이타 서비스 응용과 같이 대용량 데이타의 저장 및 처리를 필요로 하는 DBMS의 저장 장치로 기존의 디스크 뿐만 아니라 테이프 라이브러리 또는 광 디스크 쥬크 박스와 같은 3차 저장 장치가 고려되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 주기억장치 버퍼와 디스크로 구성된 저장 계층 구조를 갖는 DBMS에 3차 저장장치를 부착하고자할 때, 이의 효율적인 활용을 위한 고려사항을 제시한다.

The tertiary storage devices such as tape libraries and optical jukeboxes are now employed as storage for the DBMS to store a huge volume of data that needs to be processed in applications like multimedia data services. In this paper, we present issues to be considered to efficiently incorporate the tertiary storage to the preexisting DBMS which conventional storage hierarchy that consists of the main memory buffers and the disks.
