소목 추출물의 항산화 효능과 항균 효과 = Antioxidant and antibacterial effects of Caesalpinia sappan L. extract

국문 초록 (Abstract)

구강 내 전염성 질환은 주로 박테리아로 인해 발생하며 이를 치료하기 위해 원인균에 대한 성장 억제 기능을 하는 항균제제가 요구되고 있다. 소목(Caesalpinia sappan L.) 추출물은 과거로부터 여러 질병을 치료하기 위해 민간 의학에서 사용되어 온 전통 한약재로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 소목 추출물이 항산화 효능을 나타내고 구강균에 대해 균 성장 억제 및 사멸 효과가 나타나는지 평가하였다. 실험 결과 소목 추출물의 항산화 효능은 높게 나타났으며, 또한 농도 의존적으로 구강균 성장 억제 및 사멸 효과가 나타난 것으로 확인되었다. 이에 소목 추출물은 항산화 효능과 균에 대한 항균 효과가 있다는 사실이 입증되었으며 차후 구강 내 항균 물질로 적용 가능성이 있음을 시사한다.

Infectious diseases in the oral cavity are primarily caused by bacteria, necessitating efficacious antibacterial agents that inhibit causative bacteria proliferation. Caesalpinia sappan L. extract is a traditional herbal medicine used in folk medicine to treat various diseases. This study assessed the antioxidant efficacy and antibacterial activity of Caesalpinia sappan L. extract against oral bacteria. Caesalpinia sappan L. extract exhibited a concentration-dependent bactericidal effect against oral bacteria. This finding suggests that Caesalpinia sappan L. extract possesses antioxidant and antibacterial properties, indicating its potential as an oral antibacterial agent.
