한국수어 사전의 편찬 현황과 발전 방향 = Current Status and Development Direction of Korean Sign Language Dictionary

The purpose of this paper is to examine the current compilation of sign language dictionaries in Korea and to introduce the direction of their development. In order to do so, I describe the necessity of a new compiled Korean Sign Language Dictionary in the Introduction. In Chapter 2, I examine the compilation method of sign language dictionaries in Korea and of sign language dictionaries in Denmark and Australia. I will analyze and present the structure of these dictionaries and deal with the problem of sign language standardization, which is one of the main motive to compile dictionaries. Chapter 3 deals with issues to be considered when compiling a sign language dictionary. In Chapter 4, I describe the structure of a new Korean Sign Language Dictionary based on the problems of the current Korean Sign Language Dictionary, the user’s needs and the available resources. Finally, in Chapter 5, I discuss in what direction the new Korean Sign Language Dictionary will go.
