창원국가산단 소재 기업경쟁력 평가 및 확충방안에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Competitiveness Enrichment of firms located at Changwon National Industrial Complex

국문 초록 (Abstract)

창원국가산업단지는 1974년 중화학공업 육성정책에 의한 세계적인 첨단기계 산업단지 조성을 목표로 건설된 이래, 40여 년간 한국 기계산업의 메카로서 국가경제 및 지역경제 발전에 크게 기여하여 왔다. 최근 들어, 창원국가산단은 기술집약적 연구개발 기능이 계속 약화되어 산업구조고도화를 통한 경쟁력 확보가 이루어지지 못하였고, 중소기업에 대한 기술개발 및 기술이전도 미흡한 실정이다. 창원국가산단의 주력산업은 기계관련 산업들인데 다양한 선행연구에서 한국의 기계산업 국제경쟁력은 낮은 수준에 있다는 것을 보여 주고 있었다. 그래서 창원국가산단 소재 기업들의 경쟁력을 평가하기 위해 국내 다른 지역의 기업들과 경쟁력을 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과, 창원국가산단의 주력 산업들의 경쟁력은 국내 다른 지역 기업에 비해서 별 차이가 없는 것으로 분석되었다. 구체적으로, 기타기계 장비제조업, 자동차 및 트레일러 제조업, 1차 금속제조업은 창원국가산단 기업과 전국 주요 기업의 경영성과는 통계적으로 동일하였다. 그러나 기타 운송장비은 창원소재기업의 유동비율과 자기자본회전율은 다른 산업과 마찬가지로 통계적으로 동일하나, 매출액증가율과 자기자본이자율은 5%의 유의수준하에서 전국 주요 기업보다 낮은 경쟁력 수준에 있었다. 그래서 창원국가산단 기업의 경쟁력 향상을 위해서 세 가지 정책과제를 제시하였다. 첫째, 강소 중소기업을 육성하기 위해서는 예비 강소기업제도를 도입하고, 이 기업들이 필요로 하는 맞춤형 인력을 공급하며, 적극적인 금융지원 및 제도적 지원을 제공해야 한다. 그리고 기계산업 서비스화 촉진을 통하여 수익성과 안정성을 제고할 수 있도록 하여야 한다. 마지막으로, 첨단기계산업 융복합화를 성공적으로 조성하며, 지원·기반시설의 확충방안을 모색해야만 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper evauluates the corporate competitiveness and suggests the competitiveness enrichment of firms located at Changwon National Industrial Complex. The competitiveness of nationwide machine-related firms is globally the lower competitiveness level in the literature survey. Even if Changwon Industrial Complex is a cradle of nation's machine industry, there are other industries, transport equipment, metal products and motor vehicles. The paper compares the competitiveness of firms located at Changwon National Industrial Complex with that located at other regions in terms of financial management, that is, growth rate of sales, profit rate of net worth, current ratio and turnover of net worth. Major findings are that the growth rate of sales and the profit rate of net worth of transport equipment firms located at Changwon Industrial Complex are lower than those of other major regions whereas, financial performance of the rest of industries are similar to those of national firms. That means, corporate competitiveness located at Changwon Industrial Complex is lower globally just like that of nationwide firms. Therefore, it suggests three policy issues to enhance corporate competitiveness, i) development of the future Hidden Champions of small and medium corporate that are relatively small but highly successful companies, ii) Revitalization of machinery services industry that are technical consulting service and business consulting service, iii) Development of IT convergence of machinery industries of financial supports that are technical and regulatory base structure and local facilities supports that are industrial structure and industrial environmental acceleration.
