The purpose of this study is to explore in depth the basic situation and reasons for the invasion of the Goryeo regime by the Dongxiaguo, as well as the response measures taken by the Goryeo regime in the face of the invasion by the Dongxiaguo. The aim is to outline the evolution of the political relationship between the Dongxiaguo and the Goryeo regime. Through literature analysis, combined with a detailed review of historical materials from the Dongxiaguo and the Goryeo , relevant issues are elaborated in detail. Research has found that the Dongxiaguo attacked and harassed the Goryeo 28 times, with three objectives: first, to occupy the provinces and counties within the Goryeo territory; second, to plunder population and living materials; and third, to destroy military facilities in important Goryeo provinces and towns. Goryeo also responded to the attacks of the Dongxiaguo through three methods: gentle political dialogue, praying to the gods to eliminate military disasters, and military means, achieving certain results in dealing with the attacks of the Dongxiaguo. This study is of great significance for studying the development of the political landscape in Northeast Asia in the mid to late 13th century.
