The aim of this research is to analyze the epic of Gilgamesh by using psychoanalytic, self-psychological scope. The epic of Gilgamesh was written 5,000 years ago by the Sumerian who had used the clay tablet. And it is well known for its utmost(oldest) presence among Literature in this world. This epic consists of 12 clay tablets. The 12th clay tablet was assumed that it had been added later. To recent days, there is no research about the epic of Gilgamesh which had scoped the contents by using the psychoanalytic, self-psychological theoretical method. So in this paper, author presented the psychoanalytic, self-psychological analysis of the Gilgamesh’s character structure(particularly, vulnerable to narcissistic injury) for the further research, researchers who are interested in depth psychological Literature review.
