서울 부군당에 봉안된 무신도 현황과 특징

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 서울굿이 연행되고 있는 서울의 부군당에 봉안된 무신도를 통해 부군의 성격과 의미를 살핀 글이다. 각 장에서 논의된 내용은 다음과 같다.
2장에서는 서울의 부군당에 봉안된 무신도를 신령별로 구분하고 그 특징을 통해 부군의 역할과 의미가 무엇인지를 제시하였다.
서울의 부군당에 가장 많이 봉안된 무신도는 부군이다. 부군당에 부군이 주신이니 당연한 이치이다. 부군당이라 불리는 이유이기도하다. 마을의 수호신으로 시간과 공간속에 민중들의 삶과 가장 가까이 있는 신령으로 민중에게 부군할아버지, 할머니로 불리며 마을 사람들에게 친근한 존재이며 위로의 대상이자 공동체적 신앙의 중심에 부군이라는 신령이 있기 때문이다. 또한 무신도속에서 민중의 생활과 모습을 찾을 수 있다.
다음으로 장군과 삼불제석이다. 부군당에서 실존인물인 장군을 부군신으로 모신다. 장군신은 복을 기원하고 액을 막는 통합적 기능을 가지고 있어 부군당에 많이 모셔진다. 삼불제석과 칠성신은 인간의 수명과 복을 관장하는 천신계열의 신으로 부군당의 마을굿에서 불사거리에 모두 포함되어 있어 인간의 기본적인 욕구가 무엇인지 알 수 있다.
3장과 4장에서는 각 부군당에 봉안된 부군의 도상을 분석하고 부군에 나타나는 색채 및 인물표현 방식을 중심으로 어떻게 형상화되었는지를 살피고 그 특징과 상징적 의미를 제시하였다.
한국 무신도의 도상에 나타나는 큰 특징으로 단독신상을 들 수 있다. 이와 같이 서울의 부군당 27개의 부구당중 창전동밤섬부군당, 무쇠막부군당, 옥정숫골부군당(옥수동부군당), 응봉동부군당, 행당동아기씨당, 산천동부군당, 동빙고동부군당, 이태원부군당을 제외한 19곳의 부군당에서 부군의 무신도는 단독신상으로 나타나고 있다. 그러나 서울 부군당의 부군신의 대부분은 일반적 무신도의 도상에서의 특징과는 달리 부부형태로 모셔져 있다. 무신도는 인물을 소재로 한 인물초상화 형식이다. 부군당의 무신도는 한 화폭에 부군신을 강조해서 나타내고 있는 것이 대부분이지만 또한 하위신격을 함께 표현하는 경우도 있다. 하위신격은 주신의 모습을 그대로 닮아있는 것이 특징이다. 또한 부군의 복색은 매우 다양하게 나타나고 있으며 색채는 오방색을 사용하고 있으며 부군할아버지의 복색은 관복과 융복인 철릭과 사모관대를 하고 있으며 특히 사모관대가 많이 나타나는 특징을 보이고 있다. 이것은 민중의 예복으로 가장 귀하며 친근함을 주는 복색이기 때문이며 부군 할아버지의 복색의 특징으로 적색과 청색의 원색 사용이 많다. 그 이유는 부군신령이 마을의 수호신으로서의 역할과 벽사적 기능과 제복신앙의 대상이었기 때문이다. 부군할머니의 복색은 원삼과 한복이 주를 이루고 부군할머니의 원삼의 소매 자락에 오방색의 사용이 특히 두드러지게 나타나고 있다. 오방색의 표현 속에 다양한 부군의 주술적 의미를 담고 있다. 부군당의 다양한 복색은 부군당의 부군신은 특정된 인물로 고정되어 있지 않으며 다양한 성격과 신분의 신들이 부군으로 좌정할 수 있다는 의미이며 실존인물을 통한 열린 성격의 포괄적 의미의 신격으로 나타나고 있다. 서울부군당에 봉안된 무신도를 통해 부군의 특징과 의미를 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines the characteristics and meaning of Mooshin-do enshrined in Seoul Boogun-dang, where Seoul-gut is currently played. The study is as follows;
Chapter II focuses on classifying Mooshin-do by each spirit. The part presents the role and the meanings of each characteristics of the Mooshin-do.
The most enshrined spirit in Seoul"s Boogoon-dang is the Boogoon Spirit. This is obvious because the Boogoon is the main spirit of the shrine, and after all, the shrine: "Boogoon-dang" is named after the it. This protective spirit is the most nearby spiritto the people of the village. It is called as the Boogoon-grandfather or the Boogoon-grandmother, and plays a crucial role in consoling villagers as the center-point of worship. The life of the people are also depicted in Mooshin-do(paintings of the spirits). Next is about the Jang-goon(將軍, general) spirits and the Sambul-jeseok(三佛帝釋) spirits. The Boogoon-dang worships a real life figure, Jang-goon, as the Boogoon God. This spirit brings luck and protects people from misfortune, so it is often enshrined in Boogoon-dangs. The Sambul-jeseok and the Chilseong God(七星神) is responsible for long-life and luck, and by these characters we can see the basic wishes of the people.
Chapter III and IV analyzes the characters of each Boogoons enshrined in Boogoon-dangs. This is done by analyzing the colors and depicting details, and symbols in the paintings. The biggest characteristic in Korean Mooshin-do paintings can be seen as the single portrait of each spirit. This single portrait can be found in 19 Boogoon-dangs in Seoul. There are total 27 Boogoon-dangs in Seoul area, but for the exception of the following Boogoon-dangs: Changjeondong Bamseom Boogoon-dang, Moosheimak Boogoon-dang, Okjeong Sutgol Boogoon-dang(also known as Oksudong Boogoon-dang), Eungbongdong Boogoon-dang, Haengdangdong Aegissi-dang, Sancheondong Boogoon-dang, Dongbinggodong Boogoon-dang, Itaewon Boogoon-dang.
However most of the Boogoon Gods in Seoul Boogoon-dangs are depicted as husband and wife. This is interesting because the general form of Mooshin-do is of single character portrait. Mooshin-do is a painting of a person-character. Most Mooshindos emphasize the Boogoon God in one paper, but sometimes the lower-level spirits are also painted with the Boogoon God in the same drawing. These low-level spirits are depicted very similar to the main spirit. The colors of the costumes are depicted in various colors; mainly in Obang-saek(五方色, Five symbolistic colors). The Boogoon-grandfather has Cheollik(帖裡) and Samogwandae(紗帽冠帶) as its main costume. It uses red and blue colors because the Boogoon God is responsible for bringing luck and preventing misfortune. The costume color of Boogoon-grandmother is consisted of Wonsam(圓衫) and Hanbok(韓服). The cuff uses the five symbolistic colors so that it can obtain magical powers. The costumes and colors used in Boogoon-dang Gods are not fixed; it is used variously by applying symbols and depicting historical real-life figures. This study has reviewed to characteristics and meanings depicted in Mooshin-dos enshrined in Seoul Boogoon-dangs.
