The development of autonomous robot technology has been in the manufacturing industry due to the need for cooperative robots. However, with the recent development of autonomous driving technology, the input of robots into various service industries has become a trend. As robots enter various service industries such as delivery, shopping, serving, caring, and healthcare, it is becoming more important to find harmonious ways to interact with people. At the same time, as people’s interest in hygiene and health increased after the pandemic, non-contact services that provide value without facing sellers have become a trend. That is why the offline market has shrunk meanwhile the online retail environment has expanded at the same time. Online retail has replaced offline retail by providing a variety of user experiences (UX) on one platform and non-contact services at the same time. This blow has made a catalyst for a new change in the offline market, which was just a means of buying. To draw consumers, the offline market is making various attempts to provide it to offline market consumers by drawing on the advantages of online retail, which allows them to experience a variety of experiences based on their preferences for non-contact services. In this study, we discover the user needs in offline retail after the pandemic and create a user scenario for service robots based on insights obtained through user and field research. We build a low-fidelity prototype to validate usability based on user scenarios. Finally, we propose a service robot design that provides services for expanding user experience in offline retail.
