Recently communication using computers is widely increasing. Computer-mediated communication(CMC) is human communication via the computer. It is the process by which people create, exchange, and perceive information using networked telecommunications systems (or non-networked computers) that facilitate encoding, transmitting, and decoding messages. People interested in CMC study a range of phenomena from the dynamics of group communication in Usenet news articles to how people use hypertext to shape meaning. Although not all CMC is Internet-based, the Internet is one of the most important communication systems in CMC. The content of Internet communication is more complex to describe, but it can often be acessed for study. Internet content can be encoded and deconded using a variety of media (text, graphics, sound, video, and executable files). Because of its mediated form, Internet communication often leaves a visible trail of artfacts that can be collected for study. With this expansion of new opportunities on the Internet, CMC may have a great potential for English education in the coming years.
