노인복지시설에서의 클라이언트의 폭력과 사회복지사의 인식에 관한 연구 = Studies on Clients' Violence in a Social Welfare Facility for the elderly and Social Workers' Perception of It

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper researches the actual condition of clients' violence and examines social workers' perception of it objectively in a social welfare facility for the elderly. This research targets 145 social workers working in a social welfare facility for the elderly in A city.
According to this research, the degree of clients' violence is still relatively low in seriousness and danger. However, violence is very dangerous in frequency. Currently, social workers perceive that clients' violence is a hot issue in social welfare. Consequently, it is time to make efforts to cope with clients' violence and prevent it in Korea.
Moreover, clients' violence affects social workers, so it can also affect the service provided by these. Efforts for preventing violence as well as education and training programs after experiencing violence are needed to overcome the negative effects.
This research suggests the necessity of constant study and the urgency of developing basic plans for dealing with clients' violence including reporting violence to supervisor, systematic devices that provide supervision, education and training programs, protecting social workers rights and improving their perception of the violence of their clients, equipping workers with security devices, and educating the clients.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 노인복지시설에서의 클라이언트 폭력의 실태와 그에 대한 사회복지사들의 인식을 객관적으로 규명하고자 하였다. 그 결과 노인복지시설에서의 클라이언트의 폭력은 그 내용과 심각성, 위험수준에 있어서는 상대적으로 낮은 수준이지만 그 빈도에 있어서는 상당히 위험한 수준이며 클라이언트의 폭력을 우려하는 사회복지사들의 인식도 높게 나타났다. 또한 클라이언트의 폭력을 예방하는 노력들과 클라이언트의 폭력을 경험한 이후 나타나는 부정적인 영향을 극복하기 위한 교육훈련 프로그램이 필요하다는 것도 알 수 있었다.이에 본 연구는 지속적인 연구의 필요성과 함께 클라이언트의 폭력을 수퍼바이저에게 보고하고 수퍼비전을 제공하는 제도적인 장치, 교육 및 훈련 프로그램, 사회복지사의 권익옹호 및 인식개선, 안전보호 장치 구비, 클라이언트 교육 등, 클라이언트의 폭력에 대한 기본적인 대처가 시급함을 함께 제언하였다.
