The position of a vehicle can be pursued through the degrees of the longitude and latitude which GPS catches. The aim of the research is to trace the position of a vehicle in the place of poor GPS reception and to predict the direction of a moving car by means of GPS data. The GPS makes a poor signal when a vehicle passes through a tunnel or a tree-lined road, and in a certain area. The feeble GPS signal produces unstable GPS data which are unable to be used in the pursuit of a vehicle. So the data processing PC traces the present position of a vehicle using the sensors around the vehicle and an angle of its direction. A digital compass was attempted to trace the direction of a vehicle, but it was proved unreliable because of the magnetic field. Instead of the compass, we used fitting algorithm to process GPS data and to pursue the vehicle’s position, and proved it.
