      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      The purpose of this study was to find the differences of somatotype between Korean National Representative players and Foreign Elite players. To investigate the somatotype of the male and female Korean National Representative players heathcarters Anthropometric Methods were applied to 1300 male and 674 female subjects.
      Comparisons between the Korean National Representative players and Foreign Elite players for assessing phyique types were made in the rating scores of the somatotype components.
      The results obtained were as follows
      1. Male
      1) Incase of Endomorphy, the difference between Korean National Representative players somatotype and Foreign Elite players somatotype in case Korean National Representative players was discovered heigher than Foreign Elite players in Cycling, Gymastics, Modern pentathlon, Rowing, Canoeing, Basketball, Field hockey, Boxing, Wrestling, Weight lifting, Judo events, but Foreign Elite players was discovered heigher than Korean National Representative players in Swimming.
      2) In case of Mesomorphy, Korean National Representative players was discovered heigher than Foregin Elite players in Cycling, Fencing, Baskeball, Field hockey, Boxing but Foreign Elite players was discovered heigher than Korean National Representative players in Wrestling, Weight lifting
      3) In case of Entomorphy, Foregin Elite players was discovered heigher than Korean National Representative in water polo Cycling, Gymastics, Baskeball, Field hockey, Wrest-ling, Weight lifting, Judo events.
      2. Female
      1) In case of Endomorphy, the difference between Korean National Representative players somatotype and Foreign Elite players somatotype in case Foreign Elight players was discovered heigher than Korean National Representative players in Swimming, Diving, Gymnastics.
      2) In case of Mesomorphy, Korean National Representative players was discovered heigher than Foreign Elite players in 400m, 800 and 1500m, Javelin, shot and discus, sprinting-hurdling, Swimming, Diving, Gymastics, Rowing, Canoeing
      3) In case of Ectomorphy, Foregin Elite players was discovered heigher than Korean National Representative in 400m, Javelin, shot and discus, Swimming, Rowing, Canoeing.
