      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigates the use of a discovery learning method using concordances to teach prepositions, which are considered multi-meaning, low-transparency, and high-frequency words. The study presents a specific way to examine the versatility of prepositions that are difficult for learners to understand through context using concordances. In order to use the corpus for education (exploiting corpora to teach), the instructor- selected concordances were provided to the learners to discover the usage and meaning of each preposition. The results indicated that learners made remarkable progress in the use of correct prepositions when using the corpus of the experimental group for each preposition. Exploratory learning using the corpus proved more effective than traditional lecture-based instruction, and the validity of using the concordances was demonstrated, which could encourage the authentic use of language in teaching and learning.
