종교의 진화적 이점 = 게임 이론을 통한 증명

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

That religion has an evolutionary advantage is a critical issue because it gives us very important clues to understanding why religion arises and exists. This paper tries to prove the evolutionary advantage of religion through game theory. Religion promises not only this-worldly rewards, but also the other-worldly rewards. Both are taken into consideration when a believer chooses her/his behavior. Therefore, religious rewards are part of game model. I used three types of game model to find out that religious rewards can enhance believers’ adaptiveness. Such are: secular game model, religious game model, and religious-secular game model. The secular game model is just like Robert Axelrod’s ecological model of iterated prisoner’s dilemma. The religious game model is associated with religious payoff matrix. And the religious-secular game model takes both religious and secular rewards into account simultaneously. A simulation result shows that survivability of a population using a particular strategy with particular religious rewards is increased. This result confirms the evolutionary advantage of religion.
