In the recent rapid developing years, GIS(Geographic Information System) has been grown as fundamental technology including geographic and topographical information and increasing its role as an decision maker in the land use, national development projects and management. The production of digital map that is the primary data of GIS is the most important issue for establishment of National Geographic Information System(NGIS).
Currently produced digital map has been widely used for GIS, Engineering projects, Military services, Environmental use and also National standard digital maps, and even further more various thematic map, underground facility map and DEM are requiring, but the method of obtaining basic data such as field surveying and data processing skills have not developed much.
The surveying positioning devices such as GPS, Total Station have been developed remarkably, therefore the accuracy and efficiency of obtaining positioning information increased considerably.
But, the advantage of using these devices not yet improved for establishing spatial information system. The obtaining positioning info and property info are not synchronized yet, so to combine these two different information causes huge time and cost consumption and also increase system failures.
In this study, not only field surveying skill, surveying accuracy improvement but also field convenience improvement are researched and compared to traditional digital mapping method. RealTime field surveying system allows to insert positioning information getting from GPS, Total tation and Property information at the same time, and connect facility photo information to the objects straight away, so can be used for property quality check and data management.
Realtime filed surveying system has full functions for research and field surveying can be done at once, the self data construction, attaching photo information, therefore exact field surveying and post data management are available, the processing procedure become simplified, some procedures automated, In accordance with processing time and error frequency reduced remarkably.
