초등과학영재의 공간능력 향상을 위한 프로그램 개발과 적용 = Program Development and Application for Improving Spatial Ability of Elementary Science Gifted

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 초등과학영재 학생의 공간능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 알아보는 것이다. 연구대상은 경기도 소재 G대학교 부설 과학영재교육원 초등심화과정(5-6학년) 학생 32명으로 하였다. 공간능력을 향상시키기 위해 총 15차시의 활동프로그램을 개발하였고, 1차시와 15차시에는 공간능력 사전·사후 검사를 실시하여 학생들의 공간능력의 양적변화를 측정하였다. 총 32명의 학생의 공간능력 사전·사후 검사 점수를 분석하여 그 중 공간능력의 4가지 하위 영역에서 점수가 가장 큰 폭으로 오른 A학생과 꾸준히 상위권의 점수를 받은 B학생을 질적분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 분석대상 학생들의 수업 초기와 후기의 모습과 활동지를 분석하여 사고의 질적 변화를 보았다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공간능력 향상 프로그램은 초등과학영재 학생들의 공간능력 신장에 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 둘째, 공간능력의 점수 분포가 상위 그룹이었던 영재학생들은 수업초기의 하위 그룹 학생들보다 더 적극적으로 수업에 참여하였고 주어진 과제에 대해 공간적 사고를 활용하여 해결하였다. 하지만 수업이 진행되면서 하위 그룹의 학생들도 수업에 적극적으로 참여하였고 주어진 과제에 다양한 공간적 사고를 활용하여 문제를 해결하는 모습을 보였다. 셋째, 성별에 따른 공간능력을 분석한 결과, 사전·사후 검사 결과 모두 성별로 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to develop and implement a program to improve the spatial abilities of elementary science gifted students. Subjects to the study include 32 students on their 5th grade and 6th grade enrolled in Science-Gifted Education Center affiliated with G University located in Gyeonggi-do. Developed the action program of 15 periods in order to improve the space power, and pre-spatial ability tests were performed in first class and post-spatial ability tests were performed in last class to measure the quantitative changes in the student`s space ability. Pre- and post - test scores of 32 students` spatial ability test were analyzed. Among them, A students who had the greatest scores in the four sub - areas of spatial competence and B students who consistently received the highest scores were selected for qualitative analysis. Analyze the look and analyzed the paper of activities of students in class early and late to have seen a qualitative change in thinking. Results of the study were as follows; First, Space capability enhancement program had a positive effect on the space Ability of Elementary Gifted Students. Second, gifted students who were the top group in the spatial ability score distribution, participated more actively in the class than the lower group students at the beginning of the class and solved the problem by using spatial thinking. However, as the class progressed, the students of the lower groups actively participated in the class and showed various solving problems by using various spatial thoughts on given tasks. Third, As a result of analyzing the space capacity of the sex, pre-post ablility test results showed no significant gender differences.
