함민복 시의 생태의식과 정체성 연구 = A study on the ecological cocsciousness and identity of Ham Min-bok's poetry

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

I analyzed poet Ham Min-bok's advanced ecological consciousness and identity after the 1990s as the main subject of his poems. The poet was creating works that could be sympathized with even in the rapid change of the earth's ecosystem by grasping the aspect of nature along with the change of reality and paying attention to the mutual relationship between humans and nature. Above all, the poet can be evaluated as showing an advanced aspect of ecological poetry in that he induces readers to reflect on ecological problems as human problems while dealing with nature, humans, and social communities together. Ham Min-bok's poems show the aspects of ecological consciousness being realized in the following three aspects.
First, the identification of the ecological self and the desire for ecological recovery are intensely revealed. While maintaining a critical view of capitalist civilization, the poet recognized himself as a member of the ecosystem and showed a conscious awakening to protect the ecosystem.
Second, the attitude of awakening to the heuristic of fear and‘verticality’. The discovery of this fear starts from the necessity of suppressing selfish desires at the individual level as much as possible and pursuing the benefit and goodness of the community.
Third, it shows the commonality with nature through the circulating nature image and the reason of life egalitarianism. The poet was wary of human supremacy through various encounters with nature and emphasized that softness is an important source to break through the crisis of the present age. Poet Ham Min-bok stared at my identity as a part of the global ecosystem and criticized the dichotomous opposition such as nature/ civilization, subject / object, and was still writing meaningful poetry in the 2020s.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

필자는 90년대 이후 함민복 시인의 시를 주요 대상으로 시인의 진전된 생태 의식과 정체성에 대해 분석해보았다. 시인은 현실의 변화와 함께 하는 자연의 면모를 파악하고 인간과 자연이 갖는 상호 관계성에 주목함으로써 지구 생태계의 급속한 변화 속에서도 공감할 수 있는 작품들을 창작하고 있었다. 무엇보다 시인은 자연과 인간, 사회 공동체를 함께 다루면서도 생태 문제를 인간 자신의 문제로 성찰할 수 있도록 독자를 유도하고 있다는 점에서 생태시의 진전된 양상을 보인다고 평가할 수 있을 것이다. 함민복의 시는 다음 세 가지 측면에서 생태 의식이 구현되는 양상을 보여주고 있다.
첫째, 생태적 자아의 정체성 확인과 생태 회복의 열망이 강렬하게 드러난다는 점이다. 시인은 자본주의 문명에 대한 비판적 시각을 견지하면서도 자신이 생태계의 한 구성원으로서 자아를 인식하고 생태계를 지키려는 의식적 각성을 보여주고 있었다.
둘째, 공포의 발견술과‘수직성’에 대한 각성의 태도이다. 이 공포의 발견은 개인 차원의 이기적 욕망을 최대한 억제하고 공동체의 이익과 선을 추구해야 한다는 당위성에부터 출발한다. 시인은 자연과 인간과의 도덕적 연대를 통해 생명 공동체의 건강한 윤리와 문명에 대한 경각심을 일깨우고 있었다.
셋째, 순환하는 자연 이미지를 통한 자연과의 상통과 생명 평등주의의 사유를 보여주고 있다는 점이다. 시인은 자연과의 다양한 만남을 통해 인간 우월주의를 경계하고 부드러움이 현 시대의 위기를 돌파할 수 있는 중요 원천임을 강조하고 있었다. 함민복 시인은 지구 생태계의 한 부분으로 존재하는 나의 정체성을 응시하고 자연/문명, 주체/객체 같은 이분법적 대립 구도를 비판하면서 2020년대에도 여전히 유의미한 시를 쓰고 있음을 파악할 수 있었다.
