The purpose of this study was to synthesize the results of previous studies related to curriculum reconstruction conducted in Korea, using the meta-analysis technique. The summary of the results follows. First, the overall weighted mean effect size of curriculum reconstruction on the students` learning was determined to be positive and reliable(d+=.44, p<.05, 95% CI .38-.51). Secondly, the moderator variables that influenced the effect of curriculum reconstruction were school level, subject matter, and teacher- developed curriculum material. Curriculum reconstruction had an impaction the students` learning. The effectiveness of the curriculum reconstruction depended upon the context variables. Therefore, if teachers intend to reconstruct the curriculum, they will have to consider the following context variables: the aim of education, the student, the type of curriculum reconstruction, and other contexts.
