The Effects of Dewey's Art Experience on Dance Education

The reason why we take an interest in the word ‘experience’ may be attributed to the fact that almost all works of art are created based on experience. The ‘experience’ of John dewey is characteristic of implying what is humanistic and concurrently with this includes in itself what is physiological, physical, and cultural. Furthermore, John dewey developed his art experience, classifying it into vivid experience faced with daily routines, ‘ccomplishing experience’ coming to the final conclusion, and ‘esthetic experience’creating works of art based on these experiences. Such experiences are all ‘ne experience’ in John Dewey. from this ‘one experience’ he found the fact that science and arts are able to coexist.
In this context, examining the ‘one experience’ of John Dewey reveals that it provides perfection, satisfaction, with a certain structure and form. The accumulation of a sense of unity, implications and strength lead to growth, along with a sense of abundance in the final goal. In particular, his ‘vivid experience,’ ‘accomplishing experience,’ and ‘aesthetic experience’ are required to be treated in depth in the dance education in the future from an educational perspective.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

국문초록존 듀이 예술철학의 과제는 예술작품과 일상적 경험들 간의 연속성을 회복하는 것이었다. 따라서 그의 경험적 미는 무용교육에 있어 가장 관심을 기울여야 할 교육적 요소임을 발견할 수 있었다. 특히, 그의 ‘생생한 경험’, ‘달성적 경험’, ‘미적 경험’은 미래의 무용교육에 있어 피교육자의 교육적 관점에서 심도있게 다루어져야될 요소임은 주지의 사실이다. 이러한 미적인 요소는 예술작품뿐만 아니라 일반사람들이 삶 속에서도 미적 질성으로 인해 체험되어진다. 따라서 듀이는 예술가와 감상자가 제각기 지각하는 능력을 길러야 한다고 보았다. 또한 세상의 모든 사람들은 자신의 일이 내부로부터 출발되어 진행되다가 완료될 때 직접적으로 향유할 수 있는 ‘예술경험’을 할 수 있다는 것이다.이렇게 존 듀이 예술철학의 힘은 경험을 통한 결과물들의 축적이 곧 예술경험의 토대가 될 수 있다는, 일상적 경험에도 예술경험을 보편화시키고자 했다는 것이다.
