The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among age-friendly environment, grit and active aging for the elderly participate in physical activity. To achieve the goal of this study, a total of 220 questionnaires were distributed and 220 copies were collected back. Out of those returned questionnaires, insincerely replied or double-replied questionnaires were excluded and finally 195questionnaires were analyzed for this study. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling using SPSS Version 18.0. and Amos 18.0 program. Main findings were as follows: First, age-friendly environment had a positive effect on grit. Second, grit had a positive effect on active aging. Third, age-friendly environment had a positive effect on active aging. Fourth, grit mediated the relationship between age-friendly environment and active aging. Therefore, for the active aging of the elderly, it is important to create a comfortable living environment for the elderly, and various policy attempts will be needed for this purpose. In addition, a systematic system such as diversification of programs and classification of programs according to ability should be applied to maintain interest and continue efforts to improve grit for physical activities.
