We propose a development of leaking test metal sheet battery case using mass flow measurement for Electronic vehicle. Conventional leaking test using pressure decay measurement is not accurate because the volume of the battery case changes due to pressure, whereas proposed leaking test using mass flow measurement is more accurate because it directly measures the flow rate. Moreover, the proposed leaking test is much simpler test structure than conventional leaking test. Therefore, the proposed leaking test has desirable advantages, such as accuracy and time saving. To confirm the validity of the proposed leaking test, we perform a theoretical analysis and present experimental results obtained from a prototype that is applicable to a battery case for Electronic vehicle.
