국어 감각명사의 의미 확장에 대한 인지언어학적 접근 = A Cognitive Analysis of the Meaning Extension of Sensual Nouns in Korean

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 인지언어학의 관점에서 감각명사가 개념화되고 그 의미가 확장되는 양상을 탐색함으로써 우리가 실제로 추상적인 감각을 어떻게 이해하는지를 밝힌 것으로, 주요내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우리는 감각의 대상이나 감각을 인지하는 몸은 ``그릇``으로, 감각은 ``그릇 속의 내용물``이나 ``이동 대상``으로 개념화하며, 감각의 정도를 높낮이 즉 척도를 통해 개념화한다. 둘째, 감각명사의 기본의미는 특정 감각을 경험할 때 동반되는 개념화자의 주관적이고 인상적인 판단에 의해 그 의미가 확장된다. 특정한 대상이나 현상의 두드러진 특징인 ``본질적 특성``의 의미로 확장되기도 하고, 특정 행위나 상황에 전이되어 주체가 심리적으로 흡족, 행복, 못마땅함, 괴로움 등의 감정을 느끼고 있다는 의미를 전달하기도 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to reveal the aspects of conceptualisation of ``sense`` from the viewpoint of the cognitive experientialism and embodiment. The following two characteristics of the conventionalized expressions of ``sense`` are found out: (1) The basic meaning of ``sensual nouns`` are extended by subjectivity and impressive judgement of the subject when feeling a sense. Namely, the sensual nouns make and communicate the new meaning ``intrinsic attribute`` by transmitted to object or phenomena. Moreover they communicate the emotion that the subject feels mentally in situation surrounded the subject by transmitted to an act or a situation. (2) Their structures and meanings are coherently motivated by physical experiences.
