This study analyzes the characteristics of workplaces and industrial accident rates by year among manufacturing workplaces that received subsidies from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency in 2021, and analyzes the receipt of subsidies and the number of accident victims by year for industrial accidents occurring in the manufacturing industry. The relationship with was analyzed.
As a result of analyzing the characteristics of industrial accidents according to subsidy receipt, the distribution of attributable substances was highest in the subsidy group at 53.4% in ‘equipment and machinery’, and in the non-subsidy group at 25.2% in ‘parts, accessories and materials’. In addition, in terms of accident occurrence, the subsidy group was ‘stuck’ at 49.4%, which accounted for about half, while the non-subsidy group was ‘stuck’ at 37.5%, showing a statistically significant difference.
As a result of analyzing the accident rate by year according to whether or not the subsidy was received, for the subsidy recipient group, it was 1.18 in 2020, 1.15 in 2021, and 0.97 in 2022, and for the non-subsidy group, it was 0.98, 1.00, and 0.97 by year. As of 2021, when the subsidy was received, the disaster rate reduction effect was clearly observed in the subsidy recipient group.
As a result of analyzing the number of accident victims by year according to the characteristics of industrial accidents, the articles that showed a tendency to increase in the rate of accident victims every year were ‘containers, supplies, furniture and instruments’, and the articles that showed a tendency to decrease was ‘accessories and materials’. In addition, the types of disasters that tended to increase in the proportion of accident victims each year were ‘crashing’, ‘striking hit’, ‘coliding’, and ‘falling’, while the types of disasters that showed a decreasing trend were ‘caught in’ and ‘falling’. It appeared as ‘falling’, ‘amputation, cutting, stabbing’, etc.
