This study aimed to examine aspects of Korean language listening efficacy of Korean language learners for academic purpose. An online survey was conducted for about three weeks in March 2023 targeting foreign students. Descriptive statistics were measured using SPSS Ver.22. The independent sample t-test and oneway analysis of variance were conducted according to foreign students' characteristics, that is, learner factors, which included: gender, school year, Korean language proficiency, experience of Korean language schools, and whether participating in Korean listening comprehension classes. Learner factors affecting listening efficacy were identified through multiple regression analysis. The study results were as follows. Korean language proficiency showed a positive correlation with listening efficacy. Multiple regression analysis confirmed that Korean language proficiency has a significant effect on listening efficacy. Thus, as other learner factors do not have a significant effect on listening efficacy, proficiency should be raised to improve affective factors related to listening.
