칸트, 스트로슨, 그리고 제2 경험의 유추

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 칸트가 『순수이성비판』에서 〈제2 경험의 유추〉(A189211/B232256) 라는 이름 아래 펼친 논증에 대한 스트로슨P. F. Strawson의 비판을 검토한다. 이를 위해, 첫째, 제2 경험의 유추의 가장 핵심에 놓인 칸트의 논증을 추려 재구성한다. 둘째, 그러한 논증에 대한 스트로슨의 비판을 구조화하고, 그의 비판의 체계 내적 문제점을 상세하게 드러낸다. 셋째, 마지막으로, 설령 스트로슨의 해석이 앞서 제기된 모든 문제들을 극복할 수 있다고 할지라도 그의 해석이 향하는 초점은 실제로 칸트의 논증이 아님을 밝힌다. 이러한 일련의 작업은 칸트의 논증을 보다 정확하게 파악하는 데 중요한 지침을 제공할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper aims to examine Strawson’s criticism of Kant’s argument in the Second Analogy of Experience from the Critique of Pure Reason. For this aim, firstly, I reconstruct Kant’s argument. Secondly, I try to address Strawson’s criticism of it in detail and then to reveal his mistaken interpretive points. Thirdly and finally, even granting that Strawson’s view is powerful enough to overcome such worries, it would be basically off target. This confrontation with Strawson would throw helpful light on our understanding of the Second Analogy of Experience.
