단주기간에 따른 알코올중독자의 음주갈망, 음주후유증, 삶의 태도 변화에 대한 자가 평가 = Recovering Alcoholic’s Self-Evaluation of Alcohol Craving, Negative Consequence of Past Drinking and Life Attitude Change

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is designed to evaluate the recovering alcoholic’s perception of alcohol craving, negative consequence of his past drinking and life attitude change which are said to be the most important factors either for maintenance of abstinence or relapse. Subjects were recruited from the members of ALZA Meeting of Wonju Christian Hospital and attendants of A.A. in Seoul and Incheon between May and June 1997. Their alcohol history and demographic data were taken and they were asked to fill up questionnaires about alcohol craving, negative consequence of post drinking and their life attitude change. Subjects were divided into two groups by the period of one year abstinence, and the self-evaluation scores of above 3 items were compared between subjects abstinent more than
one year and less than one year. Compared to the group abstinent less than one year, the subjects abstinent longer than one year are more conscious of there internal sense of alcohol craving, and they are more willing to recognize and accept the negative consequence of their past drinking. Also they are found more greately changed in their life attitude. With these results, the authors can realize that the longer the alcoholic abstinent, the more they changed in attitude about alcohol, self and the world. The authors strongly suggest that regular estimation of above 3 aspects will be very helpful for the long-term management of recovery of alcoholics.
