In this study, questionnaire surveys were conducted with 150 child care teachers of national and public day care centers located in Jinju-si and Sacheon-si. The purpose of this study is to analyze the achievement motivation of child care teachers working in the national and public day care center facilities according to their personal variables with a view to finding ways to improve the effective work performance and job performance of the child care teachers. The conclusions drawn through the results and discussion of this study are as follows.
The achievement motivation of the child care teachers was shown to be higher in older ones such as those in their 40s and 50s and in married ones than in unmarried ones. In particular, among married ones, the achievement motivation was shown to be higher in those with three or more children. With regard to the ages of the subjects of this study, at least 60% of the subjects were in their 20s and 30s. Therefore, to approach the goal to be achieved in the field of child care, measures to enhance the achievement motivation of the unmarried child care teachers in their 20s and 30s working on the field should be prepared.
Based on the discussion and conclusions as above, this researcher would like to suggest the following. Since the subjects of this study are limited to the national and public day care centers in Jinju-si and Sacheon-si, the results of this study cannot be safely generalized. Therefore, in follow-up studies, the range of subjects should be expanded so that the results can be generalized.
