노인가구의 연령별 주거만족도 차이 및 결정요인에 관한 연구 = Factors Influencing Residential Satisfaction among the Elderly by Age Groups

This study aims to examine the differences of residential satisfaction among the elderly by age groups in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. Using the 2012 Korea Housing Survey data, we splitted the respondents into four groups-the young(between 19 and 54 years old), the pre-elderly(between 55 and 64 years old), the elderly (between 65 and 74 years old), and the older-elderly (75 years and older). Then, we compared the levels of residential satisfaction and determinants of residential satisfaction by age groups. The empirical analyses showed that the older-elderly are less satisfied with their overall residential environments as well as neighborhood attributes. The determinants of residential satisfaction of the elderly vary by age group. Access to healthcare facilities is more important for the older-elderly than for pre-elderly and the elderly. Natural environment and childcare/educational environment are important factors on overall residential satisfaction for all age groups.
