    In 1953 Lichtenstein grouped the 3 entities of eosinophilic granuloma, Hand-SchüllerChristian disease, and Letterer-Siwe disease under the name of histiocytosis x by different clinical manifestation.
    Histiocytosis x had been previously referred to as lipoidoses, xanthomatoses, reticuloendothelioses.
    Eosinophilic granuloma is a benign disorder, which occurs primarily in bone but can involve soft tissue, 6-year-old girl was seen on our dept. With the chief complaint of painful swelling on the left submandibular area.
    Our first impression was malignant lymphoma by the C.T. scan and it was excluded by the biopsy of lymph node.
    We were certained of eosinophilic granuloma through the clinical & radiographic features, and performed surgical curettage including involved #75 tooth germ & radiation therapy.
    After 5 months of follow up check, it revealed good bony replacement & no recurrence on operation site.
    In this case, long term follow up would be necessary because of conversion to the multifocal disease.
