This study aims to find out what relation there is between the physical aptitude training for middle school students and their satisfaction level, so as to encourage them in more actively participating the P.E. (physical education) class.
To achieve this study purpose, this study set up the research hypotheses and academic framework based on the preceding studies and theories.
383 middle school students, who have been taking the physical aptitude education through 4 different schools in Seoul and Kyung-Gi province, were chosen as a sample group. Both male and female students were randomly chosen through the whole academic years- first, second and third years.
This study is conducted via a survey using questionnaires, Frequency Analysis, Cronbach's Alpha test, Factor Analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Relation Analysis and Regression Analysis for hypothesis testing and the significance level was under 0.05. (p<.05)
From these research methods and procedures, the conclusions were derived as the following:
Firstly, middle school students were relevantly satisfied with the physical aptitude training. More male students were reliving stress through the physical exercise than female students. According to the distinction of sex and athletics, the satisfaction level was related to the physical director and the factors relieving stress. This research reveals that longer period of participation increases the satisfaction level; students who have participated in the training for 2 to 3 years, were more satisfied than others who have done for less than a year or 1 to 2 years.
Secondly, middle school students were highly interested in the P.E. class and also relevantly satisfied with the class objectives. The class evaluation and class method were also satisfying but the class environment and conditions were less satisfying comparing to other factors. According to the distinction of sex, the satisfaction level of P.E. class for male students was comparatively higher than that for females, and the satisfaction level witheach kind of exercise was not remarkably differentiable.
As a subordinate factor, the class environment considerably has an effect on the satisfaction level. Students, who participate in the lifelong sports activities, have higher level of satisfaction with the class environment than others who participate in basic exercise and martial art.
Thirdly, this study analyzes the interest level of class, the class objective, the class method, the class evaluation and the class environment, so this study concludes that middle school students have relevantly high level of satisfaction with the physical aptitude training and the relief of stress and the increase of health, physical strength and athletic ability also promote their satisfaction level of P.E. class.
