Considering the problem of anthropocentrism raised by the Anthropocene Epoch, this study aims to find and present a new concept of environment suitable for the post-anthropocentrism and ‘Ecological Turn’. In this plan of research, first of all, it is important to understand that the problems of anthropocentrism is inseparable from those of humanism and dualism according to the philosophical posthumanism, which shares the problems of the Anthropocene. Secondly, this study aims to reveal that these problems are also active in the concept of environment and its related concepts like the natural environment. Since the English word Environment contains a strong anthropocentric perspective, this study searches in other languages, and finds two more subsitutable words: Umwelt (German) and Milieu (French). In the process of comparison, this research finds the French word ‘milieu’ more suitable for Ecological Turn, because ‘milieu’ covers many other realms like physics, fluid mechanics, astrophysics, chemistry, biology, earth science, geology, geography, ethology of animals, etc. but does not have ‘anthropocentric meaning’ by definition. Deleuze & Guattari use this concept of milieu. Their theorie of milieu, more specially their concept of ‘milieu associé’ include this perspective of milieu as very ecological concept of environment, which can escape anthropocentrism in terms of Ecological Turn.
